Domestic abuse and violence can happen to anyone but is often excused or denied, especially when the abuse is emotional rather than physical. Domestic abuse survivors often have to deal with the negative effects of physical, mental, and emotional abuse. For some survivors it can take a long time to adjust and find resolution to what they have experienced.
We are here to help parents and children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse.
Our Domestic Abuse Recovery and Education Programme (DARE) is a programme to help children from four years old and you, their parent or carer, to move beyond the violence and abuse that you have been subjected to and witnessed. DARE helps you and your child understand the impact of abuse on your lives, and your child or children’s development. It will help to build your family’s confidence and self-esteem to move on from the abuse you have experienced.
