Newcastle and Northumberland Youth Link projects as well as our Newcastle CAN (Confident Adults Newcastle) project, are now recruiting for volunteers…
Are you aged 17-25?
Do you have an interest in volunteering to support young people?
Are you looking for some valuable work experience for your CV?
Do you want to gain a regionally recognised accreditation?
If you answer YES to these questions, then peer mentoring is for you!
What is Youth Link?
Youth Link is a project run by Children North East. We recruit and train peer mentor volunteers aged 17 to 25 to provide one-to-one support to young people aged 11 to 18, within their local community.
Young people are referred to us for many reasons and the support you will provide will be on a one-to-one basis in the community. You will meet once a week for between one and three hours and work towards achievable goals to help those young people to get back on track within certain aspects of their lives.
Examples of support vary from taking part in activities in order to meet new friends and build confidence, to helping them explore and access further education opportunities. Or mentees may just appreciate having someone to talk to.
“Helping change someone’s life for the better is priceless!”
