At Children North East, we understand that breaking the link between a family or individual’s home resources and their ability to access opportunities, resources and services is key to living happier, healthier lives. Creating an awareness and understanding of the challenges families face is vital so that organisations and service providers can offer the extra support and compassion needed by those living in poverty.

Stigma and Unconscious Bias

A session examining how stigma and unconscious bias is experienced by those in poverty that encourages us to look at our own preconceptions.

Poverty Proofing® Training Workshop

This session explores the experience of questions through the context of your organisation and its activities. The session is intended to inform people about the diverse experiences of people living in poverty and to generate informed discussion about ways in which we may unintentionally promote stigma or limit an individual’s access to participation and opportunities.
