ROSES Domestic Abuse Support Group

Domestic Abuse Support Group

After you have been a victim of domestic abuse, it can take time to find your feet in your new life and deal with the emotions you are experiencing. We don’t want any person to have to do that alone.

What is ROSES?

ROSES stands for ‘Recovery of Survivors Emotional Support’. It is a regular drop-in session for survivors of domestic abuse, based in the West of Newcastle. It is a safe space for you to share and hear experiences of moving away from the abuse. In the group, people share their successes or challenges they are facing and can access advice from our experienced family support team.

What is the aim of ROSES?

Building a support network of people who understand what you have gone through can be really helpful as you take your next steps. ROSES aims to create a supported space to build connections with other survivors. This is because other survivors of abuse are often best placed to share ways they dealt with challenges, signpost help opportunities and empathise with what you are feeling.

Who is ROSES for?

ROSES is for any survivor of domestic abuse as long as they are no longer in a relationship with the perpetrator and the perpetrator no longer lives with them.

When does ROSES take place?

The ROSES programme is held from 09:30 to 11:30 every Thursday during term time.
