… want to speak to someone confidentially about your health and wellbeing related to anything from pregnancy to pressures to pornography.
If the above sounds like you, you’re not alone. Our service will work with over 4,000 young people this year from Newcastle alone.
Children North East works with Streetwise to deliver a wide variety of sexual health services across Newcastle, championing the health and emotional wellbeing of young people. We combine traditional services like access to contraception and STI checks with free confidential advice and support on challenges such as pregnancy decision making, respect and consent, and period poverty.
When you’re young, navigating sexual health and healthy relationships can feel complicated, so we’ve tried to make it simple with our four services that fit into your day-to-day life:
On-the-Go Service
You can book a visit from our dedicated sexual health support van. As well as being packed with resources, the van offers a space to speak confidentially with our expert team at a place you are comfortable with. Bring our service to your doorstep (or community venue) through our booking form. Those working with young people are also invited also book visits for groups.
Outreach
We’ll be out and about across the city’s schools, colleges and universities providing 1-2-1 and group support on a wide range of sexual health topics. Not sure if we’ll be at yours? Tailored Sessions
We understand that some groups of young people may want sexual health support that explores specific needs and/or is delivered in a space that feels safe to them. We can provide tailored sessions for certain groups, such as LGBTQ+ communities, those with disabilities or from specific cultural backgrounds. Get in touch to organise a tailored session.
Nurse-led Sessions
We regularly host nurse-led sessions in community venues, giving you have the chance to access confidential healthcare and signposting into NHS services. Keep an eye on our social media or contact us to find out where we will be.

Children North East have partnered with the fantastic local charity Streetwise to deliver this programme of sexual health services. Streetwise have a long history of delivering free, confidential expertise and healthcare support to young people across the city and we are proud to be uniting our teams to provide a comprehensive service to young people when they need it, where they need it, how they need it.
